Holy fucking shit. Brewdog’s Tokio “Intergalactic fantastic oak aged stout” with cranberry and jasmine. 18.2%abv. We were pretty worried busting this open after a few rounds of Jameson, but it’s not as bad as we expected. Just the same, I’m not sure we’ll make it through the whole bottle. The cranberries bring across a nice sweetness but it’s not enough to cut through the really profound alcohol taste. I appreciate things that are oaked aged but not when my insides interpret it as nail polish remover. I mean 18%? Really? It’s BEER. What beer drinker enjoys this? Beer is about casual big gulps.
It’s not the worst I’ve had, and I’ve sampled enough Brewdog to know they have much to offer, but this is not it.
