Tried Dogfish Head’s infamous fall brew Punkin Ale today. Spiced pumpkin beers don’t really appeal to me at all. And now I have valid reasons.

The first several sips just taste like a boring brown ale. Once you get to the bottom, where all the brown sugar, allspice, cinnamon, and nutmeg has apparently settled, it becomes completely undrinkable. And we even poured it into a glass! I can’t fathom why anyone looks forward to this beer.

Einstök Ölgerd Toasted Porter from Iceland! I’ve never seen or heard of it until I came it across it at Beverage Warehouse last time. It is a super delicious, but pretty standard porter. Just enough hops for a little spike in flavor and not particularly heavy. Mmm. 6%abv.
